After a year-long battle with former label Death Row Records, Dr. Dre comes out victorious as he claims the digital rights to his debut album ‘The Chronic,’ which the label had been distributing and receiving profits without properly compensating the hip hop mogul (whose real name is Andre Young.)

It was reported that at the time of the suit, Dr. Dre was owed more than 1.2 million in unpaid artist-producer royalties, $1.1 million from digital sales, and $600,000 for mechanical royalties according to Hip Hop Dx.

How ironic that the decision in “The Chronic” digital album sales lawsuit was decided on “4/20.”
