A report in Baltimore this week stated that a fellow young man who was locked inside a police van with Freddy Gray said that he witnessed Gray self-inflicting himself. The man who was in the van with him has decided to come forward and say that that’s not true at all. This man goes by the name of Donta Allen, and first spoke with local news WJZ in order to take that affiliation away from him. The Washington Post released a report that had police documents claiming Allen said he saw himself Gray attempting to hurt himself while in custody. Allen explained in detail and very clear what he saw and heard:

“I’m Donta Allen. I am the one that was in the van with Freddie Gray. All they did was go straight to the station, but I heard a little banging, like, he was banging his head. They trying to make it seem like I told them that I made it like Freddie Gray did that to his self, Why the f-ck would he do that to his self?”

Allen says he decided to go public because he feared retaliation, and he is very angry that the police made it seem like he is on their side. You can watch him break his silence below:
