This Thursday our throwback is a little different. Now if you know your hip-hop history, I would like to believe everyone remembers the Jay Z and Nas beef. You probably recall diss tracks like Jay’s “Takeover” and Nas’ “Ether” – annd Summer Jam 2002 got way more heated than those tracks put together.
The QB rapper had more than diss tracks up his sleeve, as he had plans to hang a lifelike Jay Z made out of silicone in front of thousands of fans at Summer Jam. Now of course Hot97 did not let him go through with the idea, which paved the way for Nas not showing up to perform. Instead, Nas went to another radio station and went on a rant about Hot, causing a rift that would eventually be patched up.
Hopefully this year everyone shows up in attendance with nothing but good vibes. Below is the video of the Brooklyn rapper replica. Check it out.
