Tracy Morgan joined Matt Lauer on “Today” to speak about the car crash he was involved in last June, which took the life of his friend, comedian James McNair.
“Two weeks later, after I came out the coma my lady told me we had put Jimmy to rest. I had just gotten out of a coma, but when I got back home it really hit me.”
Morgan suffered from a serious brain injury. He says he has some permanent scars, some good days and some bad days where he tends to forget things, and gets severe headaches and nosebleeds.
When asked if the emotional pain was greater than the physical pain Morgan said,
“Bones heal, but the loss of my friend will never heal.”
However, Morgan did try to find the brighter side to the situation by saying that he is glad that Walmart is taking full responsibility of the accident, since it was a company truck caused the collision.
