79 days until AfroPunk comes to Brooklyn, the music festival announced this year’s lineup on Tuesday. Tickets will be at an affordable price as well as an earned ticket program called AfroPunk Army. Also, AfroPunk Army encourages everyone who is interested in the festival to volunteer their time in return if they finish a complete volunteer package they will earn one entry ticket to AfroPunk Fest 2015.
There’s a list of over 20 performing artists amongst the performers which fans cannot wait to see such as Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Kelis, Danny Brown, Sam Dew, Thundercat, Lion Babe and more.
As if they aren’t doing enough, Grace Jones will also collaborate for the AfroPunk Fancy Dress Ball, the first annual fundraising event for the AfroPunk Global Initiative project. Their goal is to create unique programming that encourages diversity in media, more access to the arts and to give back to the community. The AfroPunk Fancy Dress Ball will take place on Aug. 24 at Commodore Barry Park while the actual festival will take place for two days prior on Aug. 22 and 23. As it will take its talents to Atlanta in October for another two-day festival in the fall.
