The police officer who was recorded man-handling a young black girl at a suburban pool party and thre her to the ground has since resigned.
Officer Eric Casebolt can be seen in the video swinging the 14-year-old girl around, pulling her arm and even sitting on her, although she was no threat to him. The video doesnt capture what events led up to the young girl being abused by the officer, however several witnesses described in detail what happened.
During a June 9th press conference the city’s police chief Greg Conley called Casebolt’s actions “indefensible”, and also stated “Our policies, our training, our practice, do not support his actions,”
Many people say race was a geavy indicator of why the officer acted in the way he did. Check out the CNN coverage of the altercation and witnesses and tell us do you think race played a role in this, or was the officer doing his job?
