Back in May, an old song of Rich Homie Quan’s made its way to the web, causing controversy because of the following lyrics:
“Don’t want your ho, just want that cookie from her/ She tried to resist so I took it from her/ How you gonna tell me no/ You must not know who I am/”
Quan later issued an apology, explaining that the song was unfinished and never intended to be released, nor would he ever condone rape, adding that his lawyer was working on its removal from the web. However, less than a month later, another old song leaked…and it contained some more rape-glorifying lyrics.
“Chances ain’t shit if you don’t take one/Mansion full of bitches bout to rape one/I been eating money like a tapeworm/I been getting money since day one.”
Though not as quickly as he issued the last apology, Quan has spoken out again, and of course, he is sorry for his choice of words. In a new interview with Billboard, Quan says:
I do not condone or promote rape. I’m not a rapist. That song was recorded in December 2012. I was young and just rapping. At the time, I had no guidance in my life. I blame it on that. So I apologize once more to my fans.
Is you wit the sh*ts or nah?
