Today marks day 17 of the hunt for the two convicted killers-Richard Matt and David Sweat- who escaped from The Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, New York. After receiving a call claiming a possible sighting of the fugitives walking down a Friendship, NY street, officials shifted their focus to Allegany County, NY, nearly 400 miles southwest of the prison. The search in that area wrapped up late Sunday night.
Officials shifted their area of focus yet again after DNA matching that of the convicted killers was found in a Wolf Pond cabin that had been broken into, only 25 miles from the prison.
A $75,000 reward is being offered for any information leading to the incarceration of Matt and Sweat.
