Love Wins in Washington today. The supreme court has made their final ruling on the same sex marriage law. The courts ruled that “states cannot ban same sex marriage,” this is the LGBT community’s biggest victory by far. States can no longer refuse to license to gay and lesbian couples according to the Constitution. This “landmark” ruling is predicted to be “the most significant change” to the laws governing matrimony since the court struck down the states banning of inter-racial marriages in the mid 1900’s.
Here’s what the president thought of the matter.
Today is a big step in our march toward equality. Gay and lesbian couples now have the right to marry, just like anyone else. #LoveWins
