Although no causes have been determined, it is sad to say that the traditionally and historically black Mt. Zion African Methodist Episcopal church in Greeleyville, South Carolina was destroyed in a blaze of fire late Tuesday night. Some 50 firefighter’s were required to put out the fire, but further investigation is needed. This isn’t the first incident involving this church and a fire; the church was set on fire about two decades ago when the Ku Klux Klan tried to burn it down.
Just a few miles from the brutal killings of the 9 church members at bible study, a close investigation needs to be taken into consideration. It is said that the local law enforcement, South Carolina officers, along with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives is also on the case. We will be updating once new information is available.
