On June 6, 2015 South Carolina Senators voted 37 to 3 in favor of removing the Confederate Flag from their state grounds. Even though it was an overwhelming majority the House “OK” is still needed in order to remove the flag. The decision will be made today Tuesday June 7, 2015. South Carolina Republican Senator George E. Campsen III stated:
“I’d implore us to pass this bill today in the pursuit of peace and mutual up bringing.”
A huge debate has surfaced behind the senators debate, Republican Majority Leader Harvey S. Peeler stated:
“To remove the flag from the State House grounds and thinking it would change history, would be like removing a tattoo from the corpse of a loved one and thinking that would change the loved one’s obituary.”
The decision will be made today, let us know what you think in the comments below.
