During a press release on Thursday (July 9), NBA Sports gave some insight about the forthcoming NBA 2K16 by announcing that the soundtrack will be selected by DJ Khaled, DJ Premier and DJ Mustard. The soundtrack, which is set to have more than 50 songs, including 6 in-game playlists and 6 “exclusive” songs, is considered to be the most extensive playlist the franchise has created yet.

Though the three DJs are known mainly for their work in the hip-hop industry, the soundtrack will include a wide variety of genres. Some songs that have already been confirmed are “Represent” by Nas, “I Want You To Know” by Zedd ft. Selena Gomez and The Ramones’ ’76 hit “Blitzkrieg Bop.”

Each producer will curate 3 playlists, to give the game a total of 6 in-game playlists to choose from. The game will also include an international-themed playlist titled “Around the World”, a Classics Mixtape made up of fan favorites from past 2Ks, and a master playlist that brings together all 50 tracks.

“I am excited to be a part of the ongoing series of NBA 2K. As a sports fan, it was already fun before the work began. NBA 2K16 will be another big hit, especially alongside DJ Mustard and DJ Khaled bringing our different musical styles to the game,” said DJ Premier.

“I am honored to collaborate with NBA 2K, which is such a distinguished brand and one of my favorite video games. Basketball and music are two of my favorite things, and I’m excited to light up the soundtrack with my signature sound,” added Khaled. “Expect the hottest tracks and of course hit music when you press the start button on NBA 2K16! We The Best! Who?! NBA 2K16 that’s who!”

“It’s an honor and a blessing to be part of the NBA 2K musical family alongside legends like Pharrell, Jay Z, DJ Premier and DJ Khaled,” said DJ Mustard.

2K16 drops September 29, and will be made available for Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, and Windows PC.

Let’s see what these 3 come up with!
