Haitians are the target of racial and social inequality in the Dominican Republic. Since the demanding of deportation of Haitians from the Dominican Republic soil, the haitian people have been abuse and even killed due to discrimination. Many have fled the country fearing their life and survival, however, many have stayed hoping to register and become a citizen of the DR. The republic demanded that all undocumented workers must register to become citizens by the deadline of June 17th. Many of those workers did the harsh jobs that many registered citizens weren’t comfortable doing. The government hasn’t started deporting any of the undocumented workers, however, the haitian people are at risk. This is a major human rights issue and other countries may have to intervene.
