Fox News’ Elisabeth Hasselbeck suggests that the cigarette Sandra Bland refused to put out may have been used as a weapon during the traffic stop. On Monday in an interview with retired NYPD officer John Rafferty she suggested Sandra Bland may have been asked to step out of her vehicle for not putting out her cigarette, which could have been used as a weapon.
To confirm her suggestion of it being used as a weapon she asked Rafferty has a cigarette ever been used as a weapon against a police officer to which, Raffery answered “Absolutely.”
Sandra Bland was arrested for failing to signal during a routine traffic stop and three days later found dead in her jail cell. The autopsy revealed that Bland died from suicide but questions still linger on surrounding her death. Do you think the cigarette played a role in her interaction with the police officer?
