Today (July 28) Joyce Mitchell, New York prison employee, plead guilty to charges helping maximum security inmates escape prison back in June.

Mitchell plead guilty to “promoting prison contraband in the first degree, a felony, and criminal facilitation in the fourth degree, a misdemeanor.” She was charged with helping David Sweat and Richard W. Matt escape by providing tools such as, “hacksaw blades, chisels, a punch and a screwdriver bit.”

She plead guilty under the plea agreement and will be sentenced at another hearing in September.

The men who escape were captured, one being shot til death and the other suffering injuries.
