Carmelo Anthony is still the center of the Knicks offense and still looked at as the go to guy in New York right now. He’s being looked at to help the team bounce back from their worst season ever, and hopefully get them in playoff contention.
In a recent interview coach Phil Jackson went as far as naming him alongside his former pupils Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan. “Melo is a leader by example,” Jackson said, “not by exhorting his teammates. He’s also very into the triangle, and with a better supporting cast he has every chance to be the MJ and Kobe of our offense.”
If Phil Jackson is saying that he can effectively be the go to guy for the Knicks offense, which he has been since he joined the team results could prove wonderful for the struggling Knicks. Hopefully for their sake Jackson is on to something, and Carmelo will become the leader every one has wanted him to become since he suited up for the Knicks.
