Dr. Dre covered Rolling Stone to further promote the now No.1 movie in American, Straight Outta Compton. Aside from promotional efforts, the West Coast producer was questioned about two abuse allegations from ex-fiancee, singer Michel’le and journalist Dee Barnes.
According to a 1991 report from Barnes, her and Dr. Dre were together at a record release party when he took her aside and began “slamming her face and right side of her body into a wall near a staircase,” he then proceeded to ” grab her by the hair and punch her in the back of the head.”
During his sit down with Rolling Stone, Dr. Dre expressed regret when speaking on the allegations. Without taking full responsibility for the allegations, he did admit that parts of the reports were factual.
“I made some f**king horrible mistakes in my life. I was young, f**king stupid. I would say all the allegations aren’t true — some of them are, Those are some of the things that I would like to take back. It was really f**ked up. But I paid for those mistakes, and there’s no way in hell that I will ever make another mistake like that again.”
