A Kanye West fanatic that so happens to be a History teacher decided to use his Yeezy knowledge for the better. 8th grade students at Kamehameha Schools Kapalama in Hawaii got to have a lesson of a lifetime. The teacher’s name is Ray Parker and he has teamed up with fellow educators to create a program called Flash Mob learning.
The way it works is that it uses current events to better connect with students. Instead of a boring history lesson, Flash Mob allows students to get more involved in the lesson and actually pay attention. As for Mr. Ray’s latest, him and a fellow teacher came up with a lesson called “Can Kanye West Run For President?” First, up on the board was a short rundown of Kanye’s career, then Mr. Ray’s personal Nike and adidas Yeezys for the students to look at. He went on to say:
“I Jokingly told them that they can only touch the shoes if they washed their hands, I was partially kidding”
After this, the students were then shown the requirements for a presidential candidate and other topics such as primary elections, caucuses, and the Electoral College. Since Kanye’s speech at the VMAs was so youth focused it sounds like he should be making a visit to the class soon to gain his first few supporters!
