Lasers, which was Lupe Fiasco’s third album that got released back in 2011 March, was a huge let down and even more so since it was overly hyped up. Although it did make number one on the Billboard charts, fans felt he sold out and only made the album for the label and radio. Since it was such a let down, Lupe is allowing his fans to send him physical copies of their CDs so he can blow them up with a laser!
In a post via Facebook, Lupe cited a documentary that revisits Atari’s mass burial of all the ET cartridges that went unsold. This was his inspiration for wanting to ruin all the copies of Lasers. In the post he wrote:
I want to unmake an album. If you have a physical copy of LASERS that you absolutely hate and wish for it to be rendered nonexistent then you can send it back to me and I’ll have it destroyed with an actual giant laser and send it into the next world in spectacular grand fashion!
He then added:
You not getting any money back or an apology or anything like that. If you’re down hit me up in the comments or on Twitter with the hashtag #TheReturnOfLasers and if we get enough #LaserHaters willing to have their physical copy destroyed then we’ll do it on New Years Day 2016!!!!
If this does happen, this New Years will definitely be LIT.
