It’s been a pretty busy week for Chicago rapper Lil’ Herb and now we’re getting a little insight as to why. Herb has changed his rap name to G Herbo, signed to Cinematic Music Group and he’s gearing up to release his long awaited mixtape “Ballin’ Like I’m Kobe.”
Jonny Shipes recently spoke to XXL about what makes Herb so special and why he signed him. Shipes has been a fan of Herbo since his debut tape “Welcome To Fazoland,” which dropped in early 2014 and Herb’s “Pistol P Project,” which dropped this past December. He also harped on Herb’s ability as storyteller, vivid painter and even chimed in about how much the youth accepts and rocks with the 19-year-old MC.
Shipes also revealed that at the latest “Ballin’ Like I’m Kobe” will drop in October, but most likely it will be released in September. There will be a nice amount of visuals for it and he’ll be going on The Smokers Club Tour this fall as well. It sounds like Herb is about to have one hell of a fourth quarter. We can’t wait to see how this pans out for the young star. Check out the cover art below and be on the lookout for the mixtape to drop soon.
To celebrate his signing Herb released a visual for a new banger tilted “No Limit,” which you can view below. Congrats G-Herbo!
