If you haven’t been on the Internet for the past couple of days you may have missed out on something significant.
“Drill Time” by a white rapper named “Slim Jesus.” 18-year-old Slim Jesus is catching a lot attention right now for looking like Eminem, and his video “Drill Time,” which has young Slim Jesus in it wielding guns with the beams and rapping about toting guns.
The video has divided the Internet on whether this is something we should listen to and be okay with, or if it’s making a mockery and should be denounced.
I’ll provide you with a few things you need to know before you watch it:
- Slim Jesus doesn’t hesitate to stress that the illegal weapons in his videos are just props.
If you listen to rap and you hear a song titled “Drill Time” you’re going to assume it’s about shooting because… that’s what “Drill” essentially means. Ask anyone between the ages of 14-20 in Southside Chicago what drill means, they’ll tell you what you need to know.
- Twitter is divided by the song.
I mentioned this earlier but people don’t know how to feel about Slim Jesus yet. Some are cool with it, some aren’t having it. I’m going to let you choose how you feel about it. Look at this hilarious picture below though. I really thought it was Dewey at first.

1. Despite what you may think, he’s from Ohio. Not Chicago.
You hear drill you think Chicago. It’s a pretty easy assumption to make. He’s from Hamilton, Ohio he told Complex. Hamilton, Ohio? Never heard of it. Anyways, check the video out below.
