Adidas announces new tubular collection set to drop Spring/Summer 2016 and what better week to kick start start their campaign during none other than New York Fashion Week.
Adidas got things jumping quickly by setting up a pop-up space in NYC, SoHo with a performance by Future. The pop up space brought out a variety of Tubular sneakers that are currently on the market and also the new ones that are dropping in 2016. They also will be showcasing their two exclusive sneakers – a black/red Tubular Snake Primeknit and an all-white Tubular Primeknit along with the first Tubular models designed specifically for women.
Original Tubular technology was first introduced in the 90s and recently brought back to the Y-3 Qasa Racer. Adidas decided to take that model and do a few things differently. They gave it a Primeknit and completely new uppers.
Adidas Originals U.S. Senior Director Pascha Naderi-Nejad says,
We’re always going to have a nod to our heritage, but interpret it through a modern lens. We make sure that we deliver a modern aesthetic for today’s consumer and make sure that it feels authentic… The sneakers further the Tubular’s fashion-inspired design language, while delivering the look at an accessible price.
If you’re interested in viewing the space, mark your calendars and free up some time between Sept 10th – 12th from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at 115 Spring St.
