Donald Trump, as we know, is no stranger to controversy. He made headlines once again by commenting on the Black Lives Matter movement. On Tuesday night (Sept. 8th), Trump visited the Bill O’Reilly show and made it very clear that he does not support the movement saying:
” I think they’re trouble. I think they’re looking for trouble”. He also said that ” I looked at a couple of people that were interviewed from the group. I saw them with hate coming down the street last week talking about cops and police, and what should be done to them. And that was not good. And I think it’s a disgrace that they’re getting away with it.”
The Black Lives Matter Movements main purpose is to to call awareness to the mistreatment of African Americans by the police. Ayhe movement picked up after a series of high profile cases in which African American people like Trayvon Maratin, Eric Gerner, Sandra Bland, Freddie Gray and Tamir Rice, just to name a few, lost their lives due to police brutality.
Trump then hit us with the expected:
” It’s all lives matter and that should be the theme of the country “
Yes. All lives do matter & the movements isn’t saying they don’t. But past incidents and judicial rulings prove that some lives matter more than others.
