No one has influenced Kendrick Lamar more than Tupac Shakur. On his critically acclaimed album To Pimp A Butterfly, Kendrick “interviewed” the late rapper at the end of the album on the track Mortal Man. To Pimp A Butterfly was almost called Tu Pimp A Caterpillar, the abbreviation of that would’ve spelled out TuPac. Yesterday (September 13), marked the 19th anniversary of the untimely death of Tupac and to commemorate it, Kendrick wrote an open letter to his idol which was featured on the official website for the slain rapper
