Of course with the release of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s plus this weekend Apple was able to chalk up another win. This was no ordinary win though, as the company was able to move 13 million phones over the weekend. The original predictions were around 10 million and they were able to exceed that by another 3 million. Sales for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have been phenomenal, blowing past any previous first weekend sales results in Apple’s history,” Apple CEO Tim Cook said in a statement.
13 million is a lot of phones to sell and when it’s broken down it’s even crazier. For instance TechCrunch, reported that Apple sold 3,000 iPhones a minute this weekend. The 5 and 5c sold 9 million the first weekend in 2014, despite not being available in China. It’s clear that right now Apple won’t let up from reigning supreme in being the tech giant that they are.
