Comedian Trevor Noah officially took over for Jon Stewart in last night’s (Sept. 28) highly anticipated debut of The Daily Show.
In his opening monologue, he had the crowd laughing and clapping as he let his personality out showing people a taste of what he’s bringing to the table. He thanked Jon Stewart for the opportunity and ensured us, “he will work hard to make sure that you don’t look like the crazy old man who left his inheritance for some random kid from Africa.”
In his moment, he expresses how he feels about getting the new job. Noah says,

Before ending his monologue, he addressed his viewers,
And to you, the Daily Show viewers—both new and old, at home or on your phone—thank you for joining us, as we continue the war on bulls–t.
Welcome aboard Noah! We are looking forward to watch you on The Daily Show!
