Black twitter is not the crowd to play with. One bad tweet and your self esteem is torn to shreds in seconds, especially if you’re black yourself. The Avengers actor found this out for himself when he jokingly tweeted he was on the Trump train for presidency.

His tweet read,

I would 100 percent want to run Trump’s campaign. 100 percent. I mean, first that’ll be the best party ever when he won, and second, Trump’s an easy sell… When you look at Trump, he’s an easy sell because you can sell him as the guy who worked his way up from nothing. And I think if you’re a ‘pull yourself up by your bootstraps’ candidate, people would identify with that.

Well, it took no time before black twitter started their war. Mackie followed up with another tweet saying he does NOT endorse Donald Trump and he was just joking.

Sorry Donald, that wasn’t an endorsement. Just a bad attempt at a joke, I guess?

@AnthonyMackie Was it really meant as a joke or are you just backtracking after the backlash you got on Twitter? You’re a good actor.
