You read that right. Chris Webber will soon be referred to as professor Webber. Yesterday the University of Wake Forest announced that Webber will be teaching a course in a new Master of Art Sports Storytelling program, starting in the fall of 2016.
The course is linked to Wake Forest’s documentary film program and expected to have guest speakers interact with the class and discuss topics such as class, race and culture, according to Wake Forest’s press release. All discussions will be moderated by Webber.
Back in 2012, Webber teamed up with Peter Gilbert who produced the 1994 documentary “Hoop Dreams,” to create the Webber Gilbert Media Group.
“I’m excited to bring real-life experience to the program,” Webber exclaimed in a statement. “Sports are my passion and telling stories about sports is my new career.”
If you are interesting in taking part in the course the deadline is January 15.
