Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom have officially called off their divorce! If you’ll recall, the split was pending for over a year-and-a-half, as Khloe didn’t want to give up hope, despite the less-than-ideal conditions. Finally, over the summer, the reality star threw in the towel, and both she and Lamar signed the documents and had them filed. However, it takes up to 90 days to be processed by the court, and with Lamar’s major medical scare last weekend, Khloe was legally required to make medical decisions, as the divorce was still waiting to be finalized. Seems as everything happens for a reason, as it’s now officially been tossed out at their request!
TMZ reports that Khloe‘s lawyer Laura Wasser went before a judge this morning, asking to withdraw the papers they both signed to end their marriage. Lamar signed yesterday from his hospital bed, while Wasser signed on behalf of Khloe. Bear in mind – this may not be solely about getting back together. Once the marriage was dissolved, Khloe would not be able to make any more medical decisions, and it’s possible that Lamar (who has very little family) did not trust anyone else with the task.
Just before the news of the divorce dissolution, Khloe had released a statement via her website, thanking fans and friends for their support:
“The past week has been incredibly difficult. I am so thankful to family, friends, and fans, who have sent nothing but prayers and well wishes to Lamar. I also want to take a moment to thank everyone at Sunrise Hospital, including the amazing doctors and nurses for their kindness and diligent work. Under their amazing care, incredible strides have been made. You can never be prepared for an experience like this, but without the outpouring of love and endless prayers that Lamar has received and the strength I was given from my loved ones, it would have been difficult to endure. Thank you for your continued support. God is great!!!”
During last night’s TIDAL concert, Khloe‘s ex French Montana was asked his opinion on the ordeal:
“It’s a beautiful thing what she’s doing. I feel like every woman should do that. I feel like once somebody’s going through a critical condition, I feel like people should step up to the plate to help because once upon a time they had a real relationship when they was married, they still married.”
Very diplomatic of him – though we wouldn’t expect any less, as the pair had a very amicable split.
