Recently at Oklahoma’s State University Homecoming Day Parade in Stillwater a tragedy took place. On Saturday, a drunk driver drove into a crowd of people, killing 3 and injuring roughly 34 other people.
Eyewitness Paul Sims described it as being a pretty gruesome scene: “I can’t describe it any more clearly than this: People flying in the air.” Another eyewitness went into even more detail than that: “At first we thought it was part of the show. People were flying 30 feet into the air like rag dolls.” More witnesses said that the car barreled into a police motorcycle first and then into the crowd at a high rate of speed. “I think the car was going between 45 and 50 MPH, and it just barreled into everybody that was there,” witness Megan Lantz told the The Oklahoman.
That’s a pretty dramatic scene for anyone to watch.
On the night before the NBA season kicked off Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and the rest of the Oklahoma City Thunder did what they could to support the victims by visiting the hospital where all the injured were.
