Rihanna is set to hit the big screen for the third time. Let the Navy rejoice.
With the anticipation brewing from her next studio album Anti, the announcement of her new movie couldn’t come at a better time. Rihanna will star in a sci-fi film Valerian and the City of a Thousand Plants, set to be released in 2017.
While Director Lou Besson, who directed the Scarlett Johannson film Lucy, didn’t specify any details on Rihanna’a role, he did say that she will play “a big part” via his Instagram Wednesday (Oct. 28). Valerian is based on a graphic novel by Pierre Christian and Jean Cladue Mezieres. It take place in the 28th century when humans discover time travel.
The film will begin shooting on the outskirts of Paris in about two months. Besson is working with a budget of $180 million.
Kudos to RiRi!
