Ariana Grande stopped by California’s Power 106 FM radio show to promote her new single “Focus”. In the interview, DJs Justin Credible and Eric D-Lux ask Grande questions like:
“If you could use makeup or your phone one last time, which one would you pick?”
and then dig their hole even deeper when they go on to say the unicorn emoji is only for girls. Ariana’s response was great though of course. She goes on to say
“Is this what you think girls have trouble choosing between? Is this men assuming that that’s what girls would have to choose between?”
Ariana gets even more annoyed going on to tell Djs:
“You need a little brushing up on equality over here.. Who says a unicorn emoji isn’t for men? Come on. I have a long list of things I’d like to change. I think just sort of judgment in general; intolerance, meanness, double standards, misogyny, racism, sexism, all that shit. There’s lots we need to get started on, we’ve got work to do!” We’ll start with you, though.”
Ha! Congrats to Ariana for standing up for women and letting these DJs know just how sexism is in the world of media, and herself most importantly.
