On Monday, a 9-year old boy was shot and killed in the streets of Chicago. The child has been identified as Tyshawn Lee and police are unclear whether or not he was the intended target. The shooting took place in the afternoon after an argument in an alleyway as reported by the police. His mother describes Tyshawn Lee as a nice kid with dreams of taking care of his family and playing in the NBA. There is currently a $6,000 reward to track down the suspect(s) and is funded by St. Andrew’s and St. Sabina Church.

UPDATE: Activists in his community have come together to raise the reward to $20,000 for anyone who comes forward with information on the shooting.
