In the middle of most videos being posted of adults in authority beating kids, the tables turn. In the video of students at Chicago Vocational Career Academy in 2011, they are throwing things at the teacher and telling her “to sit your a** down.” A male student in a red shirt can be seen about to hit the teacher full force without having someone hold him back. He goes so far as to pick up a desk and hold it above his head and threatens to smack the teacher in the face with a “whole bag of M&M’s.”
The teacher remains calm throughout the video asking students to stop and take a seat. She calls for security, but it almost seems fake as the students continue to laugh and encourage the bully. As for the details of what happened to these students and if they ever got in trouble, that is unknown. What we do know is that the video shows not only do students get bullied.
This sparks up the conversation of what needs to be done in schools for the safety of both the students and teacher. In most people’s opinions the over-policing of our schools is probably not the answer.
What do you think of the video?
