Emanuel Duncan is a high school senior at Lawrence Central High in Indianapolis. He has a terminal illness called Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and has no idea how long he has to live. Thanks to the Make-a-Wish foundation, Duncan was able to go to Bristol, Conn to go to ESPN’s headquarters and met Stephen A. Smith, now he has his eyes on meeting LeBron James.

Duncan expressed his wish to Indy Star columnist Gregg Doyel:

“My bucket list is to meet LeBron. That’s the one thing I want to do. Meet LeBron James. That’s my role model. He inspires me to do everything. To be a good person, to put other people first, to live your life and do what makes you happy. If I meet LeBron James, that would make my day. I wouldn’t ask for anything.”

The Cavs will visit his city on February 1, 2016. But, LeBron went the extra mile and responded before then.

Doyel revealed what LeBron did by sharing his text thread with Duncan on Twitter:

LeBron also sent Ducan a very thoughtful letter about hoe Dincan inspires him. Read the letter in full below:
