Jay Z streaming service Tidal may have had a few rough months out the gate, having to let go 2 CEO’s in its first 8 months of existence, but it seem that they have finally gotten it right. Today Jay Z announced that former Soundcloud Chief Business Operator Jeff Toig will server as its new CEO. Even though Tidal had been on the rocks in its first year, the streaming service has since made bigger strides to expand the brand. Thus laying the ground work for Toig, Tidal has already expanded into original content of shows, as well as Tidal X streaming of live concerts.
In a statement Jay Z said “He has been a leader at the intersection of consumer technology and entertainment for more than two decades. His experience as an innovator speaks for itself, but I’ve also gotten to know him personally over the past few months and am looking forward to the great things he’ll be doing for TIDAL.”
