Kanye told us that he knew about fashion and he proved that last night when he won the “Shoe of the Year” award at the 2nd annual Footwear News Achievement Awards, which has been dubbed as the “Shoe Oscars”, last year in New York City.
He announces his multi-million dollar deal with Adidas at the end of 2013 and since the his Yeezy Boost 750 high top and Yeezy Boost 350 low cut which have become the most daughter after shoe since their release. The sneakers have been sported by some of the biggest names in the game, have sold out of retail stores everywhere and are being sold online at astronomical resale prices.
When he got on stage to accept his award, Yeezy was his usual candid self. He made a joke referring to his VMA rant, “If you don’t like profanity-laden speeches that end a Presidential bid, I suggest you go to the bathroom now.”
Speaking seriously, here’s what Kanye has to say when he received the honor,
“I care about product. I’m dead serious for what I create as an artist in this lifetime. It’s a spark that I want to bring joy. And just like when my daughter is singing and jumping around—she might not be finishing her sentences perfectly, but she’s brining so much joy. And I know that she’s going to grow up and be amazing. So you can see a spark in the pieces I do so that one day they can’t grow up and be amazing.”
Kim tweeted how proud she was of her man.
Congrats Yezzy. You deserve it.
