Yesterday was the 35th anniversary of when John Lennon was shot and killed in New York City. Lennon’s widow, Yoko Ono, tweeted a picture of the glasses Lennon wore at the time of his death with a statistic of people killed by guns in the U.S. since Lennon’s death. That number has now risen to 1,100,000.
That alarming number is according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and it includes numerical estimates for the two past years. Politifac claims the number of people in the U.S. who have been killed by guns since 1968 is higher than the combined casualties in all U.S. wars in history.
In the last two weeks this country has had two mass shootings in San Bernardino, CA and in Colorado. Will congress is continuously fight for stricter gun policies, more and more people are losing their lives due to gun violence. What or who will spark the change in America?
