Between the several different lawsuits, casting issues and director changes, the Tupac biopic, All Eyez On Me, has finally started production. The production on the movie started just in time too, because one of the many lawsuits the production company Morgan Creek Films filed states that they had until the end of this year to start production or the rights to Tupac’s music and story would revert back to his mother, Afeni Shakur.
Former Ruthless Records A&R L.T. Hutton shared images from the set and production meetings via Instagram, confirming the news. Hutton’s Program Pictures company is co-producing the movie with Morgan Creek Films. NFL star Desean Jackson is also involved on the production side.
As for the actors, newcomer Demetrius Shipp, Jr. has been cast as the role of Tupac. The original person cast as Tupac left the film shortly after John Singleton left the film. John Singleton has been replaced twice, but it seems like Benny Boom is here to stay.
