In a time where R&B singers are venturing more into a Hip-Hop sound, R&B singer B.J. The Chicago Kid is sticking to his roots. While releasing songs, such as “Resume” featuring Big K.R.I.T. and “Church” featuring Chance The Rapper, for his 2016 album In My Mind, B.J. decided to give us a special treat in the form of another 90s cover song.

Since doing justice to Aaliyah’s “One In A Million” and James Brown’s “King Heroine”, B.J. decided to take on Blackstreet’s 1994 hit “Before I Let Go.” For this cover, B.J. just needs his voice and a guitar. B.J.’s voice glides over the smooth melody effortlessly and for a second you forget that this song belonged to Blackstreet.

Watch the video below and comment to let us know what you think of B.J.’s version of “Before I let Go.”
