Chicago rapper, King Louie has a lot to be thankful for this holiday season. In the afternoon on Wed. Dec. 23rd, Louie was shot seven times while sitting in his vehicle. His car was hit a total of twenty-two times and Louie was also shot in his head. Thankfully, Louie survived the ordeal and was able to talk to CNN‘s Don Lemon about what happened to him and the violence going on in Chicago.
In the interview King Louie says, “The devil is working overtime,” referencing the continued violence in Chicago. He also mentions his involvement with the “Put the Guns Down” record featuring other Chicago rappers such as Common, Lil Herb, and more. The song is attempting to bring awareness to the senseless killings going on in Chicago.
