From 140 characters to 10,000?! That doesn’t make sense right? Yeah, we didn’t think so either.
According to “people familiar with the company’s plans”, Twitter is considering lifting the 140 count limit to a whopping 10,000. With that change, Twitter will no longer be on one accord with its name and logo. The purpose is brevity, hence the word tweet. Anything over 200 characters is now a blog post and you need either a journal or a WordPress, not a Twitter.
The idea was reportedly brought to the table by a development team at Twitter names “Beyond 140”. The proposed alteration could launch within the coming months.
What do you all think? Could this ruin Twitter as we know it? Fell free to sound off below.
