Janet Jackson paid the world a visit via social media to shut down rumors that she has throat cancer. Rumors began swirling when Janet announced on December 24th that she had to cancel several tour dates to undergo surgery. It wasn’t until that news coupled with a report by Radar Online that doctors had found growth in her vocal cords, that the throat cancer rumors began to take form.
Janet let us all know via a video message released on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook that the rumors were untrue.
“Remember… believe it when you hear it from my lips” said Janet via video message. She continued:
“The rumors are untrue. I do not have cancer. I’m recovering. My doctors have approved my concerts scheduled in Europe and as I promised, the postponed shows will be rescheduled.”
The video included a snippet from her song “The Great Forever” which features the lyrics, “Sources say but where you gettin in/ Don’t create the truth you like.”
Okay Janet, we see what you did there. At least now those of us who purchased Janet tickets for the U.S leg of the tour, can all breathe a sigh of relief. It’s not over ’til Janet says it’s over.
