Director Ryan Coogler, who’s had great success directing movies such as Creed and Fruitvale Station, has been officially named as the director for 2018 superhero movie Black Panther. The official statement from Marvel Studio reads:
We are fortunate to have such an esteemed filmmaker join the Marvel family. The talents Ryan showcased in his first two films easily made him our top choice to direct ‘Black Panther.’ Many fans have waited a long time to see Black Panther in his own film, and with Ryan we know we’ve found the perfect director to bring T’Challa’s story to life.
Joining Coogler, actor, Chadwick Boseman (Get On Up, 42) will also be involved in the movie, taking the lead role as T’Challa/Black Panther. Black Panther will be one of several series of Marvel films that will be setting the stage for Avengers: Infinity War.
Black Panther has no official date for the start of production but the latest it can start is early 2017.
We’ll definitely stay on the look out for Black Panther. Are you excited to see the movie?
