Jada Pinkett Smith made headlines this week when she released a video of her sharing her opinion on the lack of diversity on the Oscar nominations.
Academy Award President Cheryl Boone Issacs released a statement addressing the lack of diversity concerns. Issacs released a statement about the voting and the history surrounding it. She also added how the lack of inclusion left her “heartbroken and frustrated”.
Jada followed up Issacs’ response by tweeting
“I would like to express my gratitude to the Academy, specifically Cheryl Boone Issacs, for such a quick response in regard to the issue at hand. I look forward to the future.”
