The water situation in Flint, Michigan is truly an unbelievable one. In 2014, state officials decided to switch Flint’s water supply from Lake Huron to the Flint River, which is known by local residents for its filth. The result of the switch led to the tap water turning brown and having an odor.
Later, testing of the water showed it also had high amounts of lead in it which was causing hair loss, rashes, and poisoning in the residents, making the water unsafe to drink.
Since finding out about the news of the Flint water supply, many celebrities have pitched in to donate water for the residents. Stars like Meek Mill, Big Sean, and P.Diddy have helped to spread the word about the Flint water crisis and donate water to the city. But the Mayor of Flint, Karen Weaver, is calling for more celebrities who have tangible ties to the communtiy to donate to the cause. Recently, she publicly asked for Michigan natives Eminem and Stevie Wonder to give back to the place and people who molded their early lives.
