The Clippers star forward Blake Griffin hurt his right hand during an altercation with one of the team’s equipment staff members over the weekend, and will be on the sidelines for a few weeks now. The coach of the Clippers Doc Rivers didn’t comment on whether or not Griffin would be disciplined for his actions, but is sure to address the situation to all the team members before Tuesday’s game at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
The staff member who fought with Blake hasn’t been fired according to a team spokesman. If Griffin is selected to play in the All-Star game February 14th in Toronto he would more than likely not be able to.
Griffin has already not been playing since the day after Christmas since he’s had a partially torn left quadriceps tendon. The Clippers have still been going strong without Griffin though, with 11-3 without him. Rivers said:
“With Blake out, we’ve had this mode of trying to win every game and that’s how we have to continue to play.”
