Almost two weeks after Stacey Dash got on Fox and make a complete fool out of herself, she has taken to her personal blog to explain the “misunderstanding”.

As if one could forget, Dash told Fox that channels like BET shouldn’t exist and neither should Black History Month. Almost instantly was Dash being dragged for filth up and down the Internet including the BET network who had to remind Dash of where she came from. She was quickly reminded by the whole internet that all the risqué magazine covers for black publications, music video appearances and a role on The Game, a show that aired on BET, actually happened.

On her blog, she wrote:

“It’s hard to cut through the hysterical reactions to my comments the other day about Black History Month. I feel like many of your reactions — saying that I’ve sold out to white people, that I’m “coonin’” etc — show you aren’t hearing me. I’m not saying we as black people deserve LESS respect. I’m saying we deserve MORE.

Black History should be apart of social studies and history curriculum EVERYDAY OF EVERY MONTH OF EVERY YEAR not just 28 days out of 365!!!!

In a hundred years, do you really want the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr, Frederick Douglass, and even Barack Obama to be discussed only in the month of February?!

Black history IS American history. We are not a category or a special interest group. We are Americans.”

While she has a point here, this is completely different from what was said on FOX. We guess it’s good to have clarification on this issue but what was said on national television, will be hard for any of us to forget. Happy Black History Month Stace.
