Last night (Feb. 15), Kendrick Lamar set the house on fire at the 58th Annual Grammy awards with a powerful and revolutionary performance.
Lamar was up for 11 Grammys, one of which was Album of the Year, and although he lost that to Taylor Swift, his performance will go down in Grammy history. Coming out donned in a jail uniform and chains, rapping about his blackness, Kendrick seemed to have rendered the conservative Grammy audience speechless. However, black twitter was beaming with pride.
Check black twitter’s reactions to Kendrick’s performance below:
Some called it a stunning performance. Others called it controversial. Some called it explosive. I called it the Truth @kendricklamar

So I’ve literally watched @kendricklamar‘s performance about 15-20 times since last night. I’ve never been more proud to be black.

KENDRICK LAMAR is a political activist. I don’t care. His Grammy performance gave me goosebumps. Now THAT is hip-hop
