If singer Rihanna didn’t have to cancel her Grammy performance last minute due to bronchitis, the audience would have been getting a retro treat. Apparently, the Caribbean songstress had planed to do an 80’s talk show theme for her performance of song “Kiss It Better” from her platinum album, Anti.
The performance was going to include Late Late Show host, James Corden. Corden told his Late Late Show audience that Rihanna’s team contacted him and requested that he be apart of the performance by introducing Rihanna in an 80’s talk show theme. Corden said about the performance:
A couple of weeks ago, I was asked if I would introduce Rihanna on the show. So I get this phone call saying ‘Rihanna’s got this big thing planned for her song “Kiss It Better,” and she’s doing like a whole Eighties talk show thing. It’s going to be really cool and what she wants you to do is be like an Eighties talk show.
Unfortunately for Rihanna fans and Corden the performance would not happen that night. Rihanna tweeted to her fans, “
#NAVY so sorry I couldn’t be there ….. Thanks Grammys and CBS for your support tonight.” Hopefully one day we’ll get to see the performance.
Feel better Rih Rih!
